THE CLIENTS: C.DANIEL NISSER & PAUL BROWN
THE FLORENCE ACADEMY OF ART
Daniel and Paul wanted a clean, modern invitation to invite guests to a shared Drawing exhibition they were holding in a nearby Art Gallery. They wanted to show one example of their work each, along with the Exhibition details and a description of themselves as artists and their work. The use of a simple accordion fold on good quality card was chosen as a way to reflect and balance both artists whichever way it was viewed. A rich and modern blue colour was chosen in order to compliment the subtlety of their beautifully drawn pencil and charcoal figures.
The Academy wanted a brochure which visually acknowledged its rich cultural heritage, whilst retaining relevance in the modern world. The existence of a direct historical connection to the French Académie des Beaux-arts, the major Realist Ateliers of 19th century Paris and the tradition of the Renaissance Masters, was achieved by using an understated timeless design along with high quality cream paper stock. Spot varnish was also added to the pictures in order to add and extra depth and richness to the pictures. The use of space and clean lines echoes the contemplative atmosphere found within a contemporary Art Gallery.
